Karen L. Myers

March 15, 1959 - Jan. 22, 2013

Karen L. Myers, 53, Galveston, went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at her home in Galveston. She was born March 15, 1959, in Logansport, the daughter of Calvin L. and Joyce L. (Baber) Myers.    

She worked for 20 years for Cass County State Bank in Walton, which became Salin Bank and Trust.

She was a 1977 graduate of Lewis Cass High School and was a member of the Lewis Cass Marching Kings during high school. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Galveston. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and her family, especially her children.

Surviving are a son, Matt Nicholas, Walton; a daughter, Mallory (Nathan) McClurg, Galveston; her parents, Calvin L. and Joyce L. Myers, Galveston; a sister, Julie (Jeff) Berlet, Walton; a brother, James C. (Valerie) Myers, Galveston; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Cody) Scott, Kristie Berlet, Brad Berlet, Michael Myers; aunt, Judy (Don) Spence, Kokomo; uncle, Doug (Pam) Myers, Galveston; great-aunt, Jean Baber, Walton; mother-in-law, Jane Geasey, Walton; special friends, Debbie Baker, and the Blue Ball Women’s Fellowship, First Baptist Women’s Prayer Group.

She was preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs. Forest Baber, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Myers, and nephew, Samuel Berlet.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Galveston, with the Rev. Joel Surface officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston.
