David Myron Bolen

Dec. 4, 1928 - Feb. 9, 2013

— David Myron Bolen, 84, passed away at 4:12 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Heart Center of Indiana. He was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Frankfort, to Doyle Myron and Thelma Louise (Corn) Bolen. David married Mary Elizabeth Smith on June 22, 1946, in Kokomo, and she survives.

David was a Kokomo High School graduate and worked for Stellite in the wax department for 42 years. He was also the owner of Her & His Uniform Inc. David was a member of the quarter century club and past officer of the Kokomo Square Dance Club. He was an outdoor enthusiast, and enjoyed traveling and camping. David was quite creative, especially in carpentry and mechanics.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bolen; daughter, Suzette (Don) Bolen-Johnson, Troy, Ohio; son, David Lee (Annette) Bolen, Rothbury, Mich.; sisters, Joan (Dick) Barlow, Colorado, Nancy (Bob) Maxwell, Galveston, Dixie Diane Henson, Kokomo, and Janet Smith, Florida; brothers, John Bill (Bobbie) Bolen, Kokomo, and Bobby Keith (Jane) Bolen, Kokomo; grandchildren, Ryan (Margaret) Fuller, New Hampshire, Stephen Fuller, California, Dr. Michael Lee (Tara) Bolen, Washington D.C., and Adam David Bolen, Auburn Hills, Mich.; and great-grandchildren, Sean Fuller, Jackson Fuller and Kathryn Fuller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Becky Smith and Patty Perkins; and brothers, Ronnie Bolen and Baby Richard Lee Bolen.

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Church of the Brethren, 311 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Mark Stahl officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church. Burial will take place in Albright Cemetery.
