— Vickie Kay Walls, 62, Kokomo, passed away at 10:31 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 13, 1950, to the late John William and Audrey E. (Bowers) Burns in Kokomo. On March 8, 1985, in Kokomo, she married Kevin Walls, who survives.
Vickie worked at Accurate Parts until it closed. She enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking for her family and friends. She also was an avid shopper and collector of many items. She loved her children and enjoyed helping others. Vickie was a member of United Auto Workers Local 292, as well as an avid supporter of We Care.
Surviving are her husband, Kevin Walls; four children, Michelle R. Johnson, Indianapolis, Thomas G. (Susie) Johnson, Kokomo, Stacey E. (Michael) Ogle, Kokomo, Tracey L. (Larry) Carden, Kokomo; one brother, David L. (Margo) Burns, Burlington; one sister, Barbara L. (Hermon) Cook, Sharpsville; eight grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Mason Ogle, Jimmie Lawson, Olivia Johnson, Matt Johnson, Ire’ Workman, Leslie Carden, Ashley O’Shields; three great-grandchildren, Tanner Workman, Callie Lawson, Orin O’Shields; two brothers–in-law, Les Walls, Kokomo, Gary (Joani) Walls, Kokomo, and many nieces and nephews, who loved her and will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one uncle, Jim Bowers.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Doyle Buckner officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel.
