Mary Jo (Featherstone) Silvey, 86, Kokomo, went home to be with her Lord at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born April 11, 1926, in Kokomo, to Elizabeth (Hicks) and Joseph Paul Featherstone. She was married June 5, 1955, in Kokomo, to Robert Lance Silvey, who preceded her in death July 27, 2006.
Mary Jo worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years for St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo and for Dr. Alan R. Crebo
She was a member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kokomo and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and made baby blankets for many of her colleagues.
She was passionate about nursing and she loved her family dearly. She freely gave love to friends and strangers alike.
She is survived by a son, Eric Silvey, Kokomo; daughter, Vanessa Silvey, Indianapolis; brother, James P. Featherstone, Peru; and sister, Donna Kreutzer, Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Services will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
