Virginia Ruth Moss, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 10:29 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Century Villa Health Care in Greentown.
She was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Bowling Green, Ind., to Smith and Alta (Harden) Newport.
On July 13, 1946, in Kokomo, she married Russell (Bill) Moss, who preceded in death March 13, 1982.
She was a homemaker and a member of Upper Deer Creek Church in Galveston. She enjoyed puzzles, crafts, games and sewing. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed traveling. She lived on the farm for 35 years, from 1950 to 1985 and then moved to Kokomo and later became a resident of Wellington in Kokomo, formerly Greentree.
Surviving are a son, Gregory L. (Marita) Moss, Lafayette; a daughter, Roma Lee (Gary) Fausz, Markle; son, Gordon Ray (Judy) Moss, Kokomo; daughter, Gayle E. (Mousa) Sibat, Winter Springs, Fla.; eight grandchildren, David (Christy) Moss, Avon, Ryan (Jeannie) Moss, Boston, Mass., Amy Fausz, Fort Wayne, Karen (Randy) Wilkening, Hinckley, Ill., Loretta (Blake) Carter, Kokomo, Nathan Moss, Kokomo, Chad Sibat, Winter Springs, Fla., and Roger Sibat, Winter Springs, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren, Bridget, Natalie, Kayden, Jacob Wilkening and Taylor and Micah Moss.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband and a sister.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. The Rev. Joe Coffin will officiate. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
