Wayne R. “Windy” Ennis, 83, Inglis, Fla., formerly of Kokomo, died at 9:08 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River, Fla.

He was born in Bennets Switch on July 23, 1929, to Bert A. and Mayme (Hudson) Ennis. He married Connie (DeFabritis) Ennis, and she survives.

He was employed at Haynes-Stellite Corp, where he retired after 36 years. He was a member of Quarter Century Club and Robinson Ranch Trap & Skeet Club.

Survivors include his sons, Michael A. (Joan) Ennis, Philip E. (Michelle) Ennis, both of Kokomo, and Jeffery W. (Joy) Ennis, Marion; daughter, Linda M. (Ennis) White-Murchison, Kokomo; Delores Kirby, mother of his children; sisters, Mary Daily and Florence Jones, both of Kokomo; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert A. and Mayme E. (Hudson) Ennis; sisters, Elsie Ennis, Beulah Morris and Alice Jackson; and brothers, Fredrick “Jackie” Ennis, James “Chet” Ennis, Gail Ennis, Joe Ennis and Glen Ennis.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Victory Baptist Church, 610 W. Alto Road, with his son Pastor Mike Ennis officiating. Burial will follow at Chittick Cemetery in Miami County, with military rites to follow. Friends and family may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
