James Russell White, 88, Elizabethtown, Ky., went to be with his Lord Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, surrounded by his family at the home of his granddaughter and her husband, Erica and Sylvester Cole. He will be joining his beloved wife of 50 years, Thelma Elizabeth Threlkeld White, his parents, Carl and Elsie Smith White, a grandson and a great-grandson.
He was a native of Kokomo and a graduate of Kokomo High School. He retired from General Motors as an architectural engineer and was a member of The Rock Church in Elizabethtown, Ky.
He leaves behind his two sons, Mike (Ann) White, Kokomo, and Mark (Thoma) White, Monticello; three daughters, Vicki Peters, Linden, Pamela (Terry) Heath, Radcliff, and Cathy McClain, Swayzee; a brother, Bob White, Kokomo; two sisters, Dean Hovis, Kokomo, and Wanita Cox, Greentown; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. He is also survived by Andy (Tiffany) Severson and Erica Cole, whom he raised.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
