Logansport —
Carl H.C. Graves, 78, Logansport, passed away at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in his home. Born Dec. 9, 1933, in Sharps Chapel, Tenn., he was the son of the late Claude David and Piney Delroe (Butcher) Graves. On Sept. 20, 1951, in Seymour he married Betty Raye (Yaste) Graves, who preceded him in death Dec. 12, 1984.
From 1951 to 1976, he was employed as a forklift driver at the Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo.
Carl was a member of Miami Baptist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He had been a Little League coach.
Surviving are six sons, Carl Graves Jr., Peru, Ron Graves, Somerset, Randy (Peggy) Graves, Logansport, Lyn Graves, Logansport, Shane Graves, Logansport, and Brad Graves, Logansport; two sisters, Pauline Ryan, Russiaville, and Ruth Graves, Kokomo; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald; and four sisters, Anna Lou Graves, Barbara Sue Graves, Ivadell Smelser and Joann Maverick.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, with Sr. Pastor Rev. Dr. Daisok Panmei officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Logansport. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday in the funeral chapel.
Contributions may be made to Miami Baptist Church.
