C. Eileen Garrison Hayes

— C. Eileen Garrison Hayes, 78, Kokomo, passed away at 6:47 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Kindred Health Care. She was born July 28, 1934, to Paul and Dorothy (Hendrix) Garrison in Carroll County. She was married in 1960 to Kenneth Hayes, who was the father of her children, then later married Keith King. Both preceded her in death.

Eileen was a homemaker then worked as an aide in the library with Kokomo-Center School Corp. She also was a telephone operator for St. Joseph Hospital. Eileen was a Burlington High School graduate. Eileen attended the First Brethren Church in Burlington. She loved music and playing the piano for funerals and weddings. Eileen also had a great love for her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Scharna (Mark) Bendes, Goshen; son, Bart (Anita) Hayes, Bellbrook, Ohio; sister, Karen (Bill) Barnard, Flora; brother, Joe Garrison, Russiaville; five grandchildren, Eric (Tiffany) Bendes, Bluffton, Nathan Bendes, Goshen, Linnea Bendes, Goshen, Mattie Eileen Hayes, St. Petersburg, and Audrey Hayes, Bellbrook, Ohio; one great-grandchild, Elijah Bendes.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Stout & Son Funeral Home Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, with the Rev. Mike Ratcliff officiating the service. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery following the funeral services.

The family wishes to express its gratitude for the care given by nurses and aides at Kindred Health Care and Premier Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stout & Son Funeral Home.
