James Henry “Red” Hooper, Sr

May 16, 1932 - Feb. 22, 2013

— James Henry “Red” Hooper, Sr., 80, Indianapolis, died Friday morning, Feb. 22, 2013. He was born May 16, 1932 in Ashland, Tenn., to Francis and Naomi (Glasgow) Ewing.

He is survived by his wife, Irene (Dickens) Hooper; four sons, Terry Wayne Hooper, Indianapolis, James Henry Hooper, Jr., Avon, William Johnny Hooper, Greenwood, and Larry Eugene Hooper, Kokomo; two daughters, Brenda Gail Smith and Karen Lynn Sullivan, both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Millard Hooper, Harrison, Tenn., and Cordell Hooper, Pensacola, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Calling will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Monday, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
