— Janet S. White, 77, Peru, passed away at 6:27 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Northwoods Village Heathcare Center in Kokomo. Janet was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Miami County to Harry and Mabel (Waters) Zehring.
She retired from Bryan Steam Corp. in Peru in 2000 after serving for more than 30 years. She graduated from Clay Township High School in 1952, and then graduated from Indiana Business College. She was a member of Mount Zion Free Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Janet loved life and was always on the go. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors are her daughter, Sherri Reyburn, Kokomo; grandchildren, David and Tonya Wininger, Jill and Randy Chilcutt, Jessica White, Matthew and Ginny White, Heather and Bill Roberts, and Ricky and Constance Hancock; daughter-in-law, Cindy White, Peru; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carmen and Eddie McClure, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David and Randy White; “special son,” Mike Wininger; two brothers, Dale and Lewis Zehring; and one sister, Marion Wyrick.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. The Rev. Russ Veldman is officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
