Judith Ann Ludwig

Aug. 22, 1954 - Feb. 24, 2013

— Judith Ann Ludwig, 58, Kokomo, passed away at 3:06 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1954, in Kokomo to John and Phyllis Metcalf, who survive. She was baptized Sept. 12, 1954. On April 28, 1973, she married her high school sweetheart, the Rev. Thomas A. Ludwig, who also survives.

They first met at Zion Lutheran Church, where Tom is now the senior pastor. Judy worked for Sears, Big R and retired from Shepherd’s Lamb Daycare. She was very instrumental in helping her husband while he was in seminary. She served in many capacities in Zion Lutheran Church alongside her husband. She especially loved working with the preschool children. Judy enjoyed crafts, making greeting cards and Christmas ornaments. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply.

Surviving are her parents, John and Phyllis Metcalf, Kokomo; husband, the Rev. Thomas A. Ludwig, Kokomo; daughter, Jennifer Bollnow, Kokomo; daughters, Kimberly Ludwig and fiancee Jason Smith, West Lafayette, and Stephanie and husband Thomas King, Kokomo; son, Thomas “T.J.” Ludwig Jr., Indianapolis; grandchildren, Ariel, Mitchell, Benjamin, Joseph, Shy, Hunter, Chloe and Olivia; sisters, Linda and husband Larry Peacock, Kentland, Pam and husband Ronnie Clark, Waco, Texas, and Cathy and husband Dana McGill, Forrest; brother, Doug and wife Lisa Metcalf, Young America; mother-in-law, Lillian Ludwig, Kokomo; brother-in-law, Phillip Ludwig, Kokomo; sister-in-law, Janet and husband Ken Vandre, Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews, great nephews; and her granddog, Lemmy.  

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. E., with the Rev. James Lewis and the Rev. William Allison officiating. Burial will follow in North Union Cemetery in Howard County. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.  

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 6843 W. County Road 400 North. Murray-Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com.
