— Mark Alan Hood, 58, Kokomo, passed away at 9:17 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Mark was born June 8, 1953, in Howard County, to Robert J. Hood Sr. and Emma G. Hood.
Mark loved fishing, singing and writing songs and praising the Lord, but most of all, loved being with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Emma G. Hood; two sons, Jason M. and Robert B. Hood; two daughters, Chasity Kidwell and husband Brian, and Marketta J. Tarrant and husband Joshua; three brothers, Tim Hood, Robert Hood Jr. and wife Sandy, and Andy Hood; five sisters, Debbie Coram, Susie Purvis and husband Dennis, Robin Brock and husband Steve, Edie Droke and husband Mick, and Sandy Hughs and husband Rich; 11 grandchildren, Lindsay, Zachery, Amber, Tayler, Destiny, Brianne, MaKayla, Zahya, Jocelynn, Sophia and Robert Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Madelynn.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Hood Sr.; a daughter, Amber A. Hood; and a brother, Kevin Hood.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 616 Touby Pike, Kokomo. Services will be 3 p.m. at the church, officiated by Pastor James Bradley and Pastor Tony Manis. The services will conclude at the church.
Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, assisted the family with arrangements.
