Ted Ware

Aug. 11, 1944 - Sept. 3, 2009

Ted Ware, 65, Mulberry, passed away at 5:28 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. He was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Kokomo, to Lewis Howard and Hazel (Ancil) Ware. On Sept. 17, 1967, he married Susie Chittick, who survives.

He worked for United Auto Works at Chrysler for 33 years and retired in 2004. He had lived in Mulberry since 1971. He was a member of the UAW, ACLU, Democratic Party, had been president of the Mulberry Golf League since 1991 and was instrumental in forming the league. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1962 and Manchester College with a bachelor’s degree. He enjoyed golf, fishing, was an avid reader and enjoyed having a good time with family and friends.

Ted is survived by his wife; three children, Travis and wife Jackie Ware, Rossville, Josh and wife Jamie Ware, Mulberry, and Katie and husband Toby Hamilton, Mulberry; seven grandchildren, Parker, Holly and Ava Ware, Allie and Max Ware, and Jacob and Ted Hamilton, with number eight on the way; two sisters, Mary Lou Kinney, Kokomo, and Ann and husband Bob Young, Fairfax, Va.; mother-in-law, Norma Stengel, Mulberry; father-in-law, Rex Chittick, Rossville; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sherry and husband Don Winter, Floodwood, Minn., Cynthia and husband Steve Linton, Wooster, Ohio, and Sandy and husband Gary Kinsler, Frankfort; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Bob Kinney; and two nieces.

Graveside services are 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Haven Cemetery, Mulberry. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Mulberry Community Library or Mulberry Baseball League.
