Valerie Tressel Dailey, 61, Greentown, passed away at 5:03 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at her home. She was born Feb. 27, 1951, in Kokomo to Chester and Doris (Dillman) Tressel. On Aug. 13, 1974, in Tipton, she was married to Jim Dailey, who survives.
Valerie was a librarian for Eastern schools for many years. She was a lifetime member of Main Street Christian Church and then First Christian Church in Kokomo. She was also a board member of the National Greentown Glass Association.
Valerie loved traveling, antiquing, and gardening. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Tressel; husband, Jim Dailey; a daughter, Laura (Schick) Blanch and husband Blair; a son, Kevin Dailey; a stepdaughter, Carrie (Dailey) Sprague and husband Kline; grandchildren, Cody Dailey, Lance Dailey, Nicholas Blanch, and Elijah Blanch; a brother, Larry Lloyd Tressel and wife Sharon; a sister-in-law, Barb Lyke and husband Ed; brothers-in-law, Paul Dailey and wife Pam, and Doug Dailey and wife Roxie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Tressel; and a granddaughter, Emily Rose Blanch.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 854 N. County Road 300 West, Kokomo, with Pastor Michael Dodds officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
