Craig A. Altherr

March 26, 1968 - Dec. 14, 2012

Craig Alan Altherr, 44, Henderson, Nev., died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. He was born March 26, 1968, in Tipton to James V. and Peggy J. (Wood) Altherr.

Craig worked at the Golden Gate Casino and was also a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 525 in Las Vegas. He also worked at Daimler Chrysler and BR Schroeder & Sons in Indiana. He was a 1987 alumni of Tipton High School.

He loved riding his Harley, hiking and rock climbing.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Altherr, Tipton; son, James Royce Altherr, Las Vegas; one sister, Kim Altherr, Kokomo; wife, Yuhua Altherr, and stepdaughter, Jing, Las Vegas, Nev.; and his dog, Chico. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

From 2 to 8 p.m. Jan. 5, a “celebration of life” party will be at the American Legion, 129 N. Independence, Tipton. Please come to the party in casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 6165 S. Rainbow Blvd. Ste. 12, Las Vegas, NV 89118 or the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
