Virginia R. Sipes

Aug. 4, 1923 - Jan. 17, 2013

Virginia R. Sipes, 89, Russiaville, went to be with Lord at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, from Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born Aug. 4, 1923 in Howard County, the daughter of Keith and Dollie (Jeffers) Foreman. On July 9, 1942, in Denver Colo., she married Ralph W. Sipes, who preceded her in death May 16, 2011.

Virginia graduated from Forest High School in 1941. She was a homemaker, and her and husband Ralph established Sipes Electric in Russiaville. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she also served on the Ladies Missionary Society. Virginia was very proud of her family and enjoyed having them together when ever she could.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Lee and wife, Donna Sipes, and James Ralph and wife, Patricia Sipes, all of Russiaville; four grandchildren, Michael Sipes, Barbara (Ronnie) Runyon, Scott (Lisa) Sipes, Kathryn (Jeremy) Polk; six great-grandchildren, Molly Sipes, Adam Sipes, Matthew Sipes, Katie Runyon, Jesse Polk and Jacob Polk; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Foreman and Marydean Foreman, Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harry (Jean) Foreman, Max Foreman and Ralph Foreman; and two sisters, Joyce (Mark) McCreary and Helen Foreman.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St. Russiaville, with the Rev. Dale Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
