Patricia Haywood, 93, Kokomo, passed away at her residence at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. She was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Sterling, Colo., to Marice Monroe and Julia Walsh McNutt, formerly of Kokomo.
She was a 1937 graduate of Kokomo High School, attended Kokomo Junior College and Butler University. She worked at the Kokomo Library until she married Parker Haywood, a widower with a young son, Thomas, who preceded them both in death.
Pat was a member of First Presbyterian Church, teaching several Sunday school classes. She was a Scout leader for both her son’s and daughter’s troops, was also a member and past president of PEO, Chapter BU, Delphian Reading Club, Tri Kappa Sorority and Study Club.
She is survived by Bill, Karen, Parker and Thea Haywood, Denver, Colo., and Julie Haywood, Kokomo.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. There will be one hour of visiting prior to the service at the mortuary.
