Frank Jr. Bush, 86, of Kokomo, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. He was born on Oct. 19, 1926, in Kokomo, to the late Frank Bush Sr. and Nellie (Merrick) Bush. On Aug. 15, 1968, Frank married Ruby (Byers) Bush. Ruby survives.
Frank was raised in Knightstown in the Soldiers and Sailors Home. After his studies, Frank joined the United States Navy, where he worked on a mine sweeper. After his military service, Frank worked for Globe American Co. as a painter until he began working in construction. Frank did construction work for 35 years until retiring in 1987. He enjoyed working around his house and in the yard. He especially enjoyed vacationing with his family. His joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Frank was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as the trustee, as well as Laborers International Union of North America.
Surviving along with Ruby are his daughter, Jane Pohlman (J. Wayne), Kokomo; grandchildren, Marc Pohlman, New York, N.Y., Mary Jane Hole, Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Jane Hole, Kokomo, Franklyn Hole, Kokomo; two sisters, Delpha Long, Kokomo, Lena Webster, Kokomo; one sister-in-law, Ethel Bush, Newport, N.C.; stepfamily; half-sisters, Shirley Dill, Florida, Marcia Elaine Brown, Florida; half-brother, Albert Webster, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father and mother; two brothers, Robert Bush and Richard Bush; and one great-granddaughter, Clara Jane Hole.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 6843 W. 400 North, Kokomo, with Pastor Tom Ludwig officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St.
