July 29, 1942 - March 25, 2007
Larry Lee Patmore Sr., 64, went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ at 12:02 a.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born July 29, 1942, in Clinton County, to Garland and Norma Jean (Kelly) Patmore. He married Bonnie (Bousum) Karp on Sept. 17, 1976.
He worked for many years in the clothing business for Golightly’s and Elder-Beerman. He worked for Northwoods Commons for the last six years. The staff were like extended family and he and the residents were always treated with respect and dignity.
He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1960 and he attended Family Worship Center. Most people don’t know that he was an excellent carpenter. He designed and remodeled the offices of New Covenant Christian Church while it was the Word of Life Church. He designed and built the “gingerbread” porch for his mother- and father-in-law; he built their deck and helped add a bedroom to their house. He was a very loyal friend, husband, and child of God. Whether you liked him or not, whether you believed what he believed or not, you still knew, above all, he loved his Lord.
Larry is survived by his wife, Bonnie; mother, Norma Jean Duncan, Kokomo; three sons, Larry Patmore Jr., Evansville, Jay Karp, Kokomo, and Andy Patmore, Carmel; two daughters and their husbands, Angie and Dave Leyda, and Aimee and Aaron Keiper, all of Noblesville; he leaves five grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Benjamin Leyda and Hannah and Noah Keiper; brother, Gary Patmore, Kokomo; sister, Louetta Anthony and husband Jim, Kokomo; stepmother, Eleanor Patmore, Kokomo; and two nieces and four nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Family Worship Center, 1149 E. Center Road, Kokomo, with Pastor James Bradley and Pastor Patrick Bousum officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Worship Center. Online condolences may be sent to wwwstoutandson.com. Stout & Son Funeral Home of Russiaville is in charge of the arrangements.
