James Stiner, of Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, in Indianapolis. James was born on Sept. 23, 1943, in Kokomo, to William Carl and Wilma B. (Dillman) Stiner. James married his loving wife, Mary L. Stiner, in 1975.
He worked for Delco Electronics as a tow motor operator for 33 years before retiring in 1994. He was an alternate union committeeman at United Auto Workers Local #292. James loved old cars and going to car shows. He loved his two dogs, Tuffy and Casey, and enjoyed singing with them. He also loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Ray Ragan and wife, Kem, Bill Ragan, Larry Stiner, Mike Brown and wife, Deena, and Shannon Stiner and wife, Jasmine; daughters, Terri Hunt and husband, Gary, Kim Flora, and Bonnie Bradley and husband, Bob; brothers, William B. Stiner, and Dan Stiner and wife Penny; sisters, Gloria M. Julius, Patricia L. Cassis and husband Ron, Susie McKinney and husband Larry, and Bonnie Surface and husband Bob; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, William Carl Stiner Jr.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, with the Rev. James Bradley officiating.
