Benjamin Daniel Elo, 14, Mooresville, died Monday, July 21, 2008. Ben was born Sept. 8, 1993, in Indianapolis, to Brian J. and Melanie (Reid) Elo, Mooresville.
Ben had attended Mooresville Christian Academy from kindergarten until the middle of his eighth-grade year, when he transferred to Paul Hadley Middle School in Mooresville. He was a member of the Junior National Honors Society and had been honored by the President’s Education Awards Program for Outstanding Academic Excellence.
Ben was a very talented soccer player and played forward with the Carmel United Soccer Club. His team won the State Championship this past year.
Ben was preceded in death by an aunt, Laura Butler.
Survivors include his parents, Brian J. and Melanie (Reid) Elo, Mooresville; brother, Jack Elo, Mooresville; sister, Grace Elo, Mooresville; maternal grandparents, Jon and Sharon Ellers, Kokomo; paternal grandparents, John and Phyllis Elo, Crown Point; aunts and uncles, John Elo (Rae), Phil Elo (Lori), Tim Elo (Lisa), Karen Broholm (Mark), Steve Butler (Thomasa), Linda Newbauer (Steve) and a host of loving cousins.
Friends and family will gather from 3 to 8 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Road, Mooresville. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the gymnasium at Mooresville Christian Academy, 4271 E. Ind. 144, Mooresville. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Dennis Payton and the Rev. Gene Young.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of Morgan County, Benjamin Elo Memorial Fund, 250 N. Monroe St., Mooresville, IN 46158.

Helen Louise Brown, 85, Kokomo, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was the daughter of Edna and George Seitz, Walkerton. On Dec. 19, 1948, at Walkerton Methodist Church, she married Milton Brown, who survives. Helen and Milt were married for more than 63 years.

Mary Edith (Knight) Ratcliff, 93, Kokomo, died at 11:11 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at her home, where she had been cared for by her family. She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in Clinton County. She was one of three daughters born to the late Evert and Edith (Finney) Knight. On July 4, 1939, she married Chester Ratcliff who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1977.
