Mary Ann Harrold

Mary Ann Harrold, Kokomo, died at 3:42 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Life Care Center of Rochester. Mrs. Harrold was born May 3, 1922, the daughter of the late George L. and Iona (Cottrell) Brewsaugh in Tippecanoe County. She married Durward Stewart Harrold on June 5, 1943, in Wabash. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1965.

Also preceding her in death is a granddaughter, Jill Harrold.

Before retiring from General Motors, Mrs. Harrold worked for many years as a telephone operator in Wabash. She was very active as a volunteer for the American Red Cross, the Manor Care Nursing Home and the Republican Party, having received the State Of Indiana Volunteers Award. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and was an avid reader.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Harrold and wife Marietta, Kokomo, and Tom Harrold and wife Cindy, Kokomo; two daughters, Jane Armstrong, Nyona Lake, and Linda Bowser, Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Julie Laden and husband Gary, Jennifer Murray, Jay Armstrong, Audrey James and husband Carl, Andy Harrold, Jamie Leising and husband Josh, Heather Lepping and husband Paul; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. Monday, with Pastor Charles Armstrong officiating.
