Aundra Ditmore


Aundra Ditmore, 87, Maryville, Tenn., passed away Wednesday Oct. 21, 2009. Born and raised in Sharps Chapel, Tenn., she was the daughter of R.C. and Della McBee Burnett, and was married in 1940 to Henry Ditmore, who preceded her in death in 2004.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Goldie Burnett; granddaughter, Laura Fridley; and son-in-law, Darrell Brake.

She is survived by daughters, Doris (John) Fridley, Kokomo, Sue Brake and Hilda Nichols, both of Maryville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; sister, Bonnie Sandford; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Ann Burnett. Also surviving are “adopted son” Roy Sims; devoted friends and family, Shane and Pam Bullock, Don Sanford and James Henderson; and very special great-granddaughter, Sarah Campbell.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Blount Memorial Palliative Care Team, and Blount Memorial Hospice for the comfort you brought to us these past weeks.

Aundra was a member of Allegheny Missionary Baptist Church and retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.

Funeral service are 7 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, Tenn., with Rev. John Whitehead officiating. Interment service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Kagley’s Chapel. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
