Gerald D. Shuck, 93, Windfall, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Century Villa Healthcare. He was born Sept, 1, 1916, in Prairie Township, to David Ed and Goldie E. (Adams) Shuck. He married Ruth L. Terhune, and she preceded him in death.
He worked at Haynes for 38 years before his retirement in 1981. He loved farming and sports and was very competitive. He coached basketball and softball, and played high school ball at Prairie Township High School. He enjoyed bowling and bowled up until last year. He was a school bus driver for Prairie Township, and also ran a grocery store in Prairie Township.
He is survived by sons, David (Maryann) Shuck, Logansport, Gerald (Pamela) Shuck, Windfall, and Ronald (Judy) Shuck, Sharpsville; daughters, Nancy Henson, Kokomo, and Deana (Alan) Foutch, Sharpsville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Merlin Shuck; and sister, Donna Mae Lindson.
In addition to his wife, Ruth L. Shuck, he was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, five brothers, a grandson, and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Harlow officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
