Nina I. Bryant, 86, formerly of Elkhart, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at her residence in Kokomo.

She was born April 5, 1923, to the late Alfred E. and Edna I. (Thompson) Parker in Union, Mich. On April 18, 1964, she married Phillip R. Bryant in Elkhart. He died June 29, 1989.

She worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., during World War II, and later worked as a secretary for Miles Laboratories, Inc. where she retired after 12 years. She also, with her husband, owned the Bryant Insurance Agency in Elkhart, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Kokomo, and while in Elkhart was a volunteer at the Faith Mission.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandi Lewis, Angola; a brother, Jerry Parker, Kokomo; one sister Joyce Farr, Kokomo; and one grandson.

Services are noon Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart. Reverend Tim England will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
