Ann N. Royal, 76, Kokomo, formerly of Peru, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born Sept. 16, 1933, the daughter of Rufus Sullivan and Carrie Woodruff Sullivan in Newberg, Ky. She was a field director for the Tribal Trails Girl Scouts Council, and formerly employed as a tutor for Peru High School and Junior High School. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha (E.S.A.) philanthropic sorority (former treasurer), American Business Women (A.B.W.), Girl Scout Leader (Troop 246), Cub Scouts Den Mother, Girls Softball Coach (WARU Spinners), 4-H supporter, Peru Amateur Circus volunteer, and recipient of numerous Civic Awards.
Her parents; son Elisha Royal, Jr.; one sister; and five brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Elisha Royal Sr., Peru; daughters, Ranelle Royal, Peru, Beverly A. Royal-Press (Matthew), Riverdale, N.Y.; sons, Timothy W. Royal (Jocelyn), Michael D. Royal, both of Los Angeles, Calif., Kevin P. Royal, Lafayette; sister Queenetta Robinson (William), Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Erica and Melanie Press, and London Royal; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
Services are noon Monday at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Lonnie Anderson will be the officiant and eulogist. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Bluitt & Son Funeral Home. Online condolences can be left at williamsandlbluitt.com
