Genevieve B. “Ginny” (Hendershot) Trees, 91, Frankfort, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Wesley Manor, where she had lived since 1999.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1917, in Kokomo, to Orel and Flossie (Newberry) Hendershot. She married Everett “Tuck” Trees on April 9, 1939, and he preceded her in death in September 1983.
She was a graduate of New London (Howard County) High School in 1935 and Central Normal College. A school teacher, she taught in Clinton County schools for 31 years, including Jackson, Beard, and Mulberry. She was a member of First Christian Church, Retired Teachers Association and Elks Auxiliary.
She is survived by three brothers, Rex (Kathy) Hendershot of Russiaville, Ralph (Karen) Hendershot of Kokomo, and Richard (Carolyn) Hendershot of Kokomo. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at goodwinfuneralhome.com.
