Betty L. Winegardner

Betty L. Winegardner, 87, Greentown, died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009. She was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Elwood, to the late Ross and Almira (Corbett) Little. On Sept. 7, 1939, she married Charles Milford Winegardner, who died June 9, 2004.

Betty was a farm wife. She helped her husband, Charles, on the farm throughout his farming career. She attended Point Isabel Methodist Church and was a member of Swayzee Eastern Star. Betty lived her entire life for her family; they meant everything to her.

Surviving are daughter, Beth Anne (Dean) Hicks, Greentown; sons Eddie R. (Sharon) Winegardner, Marion, and Philip A. (Sharon) Winegardner, Westville; brother, Carlos Little, Granada Hills, Calif.; grandchildren Chuck (Debbie) Wingardner, Chris (Lynn) Winegardner, Bruce (Melody) Winegardner, Tony Hicks, LouAnne (Brian) Oates, Susan (Jason) Roberts, Andrea Winegardner, and Kathy Wright; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sister-in-law, Jenny Little; brother and wife John and Jane Little, brother and wife Charles and Charlene Little; and sister, Elizabeth Fogerty.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Albright Cemetery, Kokomo.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grant County Sheriff’s Chaplaincy Department. Online condolences may be made at www.nswcares.com.
