Mary Darleen Taylor, 89, Kokomo, died at 3:41 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo.

She was born July 6, 1920, in Frankfort, to Fern Francis McCord and Gladys Mary (Skeen) McCord. She married Herbert Taylor Jr. on Dec. 18, 1941, in Tipton, and he preceded her in death in January 2001.

She graduated from Frankfort High School in the late 1930s. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bowling, reading, playing cards, sewing and knitting.

Survivors include a son, Paul David and wife Josefa C. Taylor, Lawndale, Calif.; granddaughter, Michelle Nicole Taylor, Lawndale, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald McCord, and a sister-In-law, Jean Scott.

The service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel 3400 S. Webster St., with Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Dana George Askren, 61, Windfall and formerly of Kokomo, Tipton and Mount Vernon, Ky., died early Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his residence. He was born Aug. 27, 1950, in Elwood to George M. and Margaret (Ogden) Askren. He married Judith Faye Bradshaw in 1975.

Donald R. Jerrels, Sr., 75, Peru, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Howard Regional Health System in Kokomo. He was born April 23, 1936, in Dugger, to James and Mary (Buckner) Jerrels. On Nov. 20, 1989, he married Marcia Miller, and she survives.

David Gibson Beard, 64, Kokomo passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Samuel and Claudia (Walker) Gibson. He was one of three sons born to this union, including Samuel Jr. and Devere. After the death of their parents and grandparents, the boys were adopted by Earl Nathan and Gladie Lee Beard, Kokomo.

Mabel Berniece Shaw, 97, Greentown, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Century Villa Nursing Home, Greentown. Berniece was born in Cyclone on Nov. 1, 1914, to the late William and Margaret Benge. She married Alton Leroy Show on April 6, 1933, in Kokomo. Alton preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2003.
