Phyllis Wright Miller

Phyllis Wright Miller, 87, Kissimmee, Fla., died at 4:21 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at her residence. Phyllis was born May 23, 1922, on a farm north of Greentown, the daughter of Raymond Isaac and Susie Glenn (Snyder) Hill.

On Nov. 28, 1942, she married Chester Wright Jr., of Greentown, who preceded her in death June 2, 1984. Phyllis graduated from Union Township School in 1941, and retired from General Motors in October 1982. She was a 63-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 193. Phyllis was a member of the New Salem Friends Church and a member of the First Christian Church of Kissimmee, Fla., where she and her husband attended. On Sept. 28, 1987, she married Robert E. Miller, Kokomo, and in 1990 they moved to Kissimmee full time.

Survivors include her husband Robert E. Miller, Kissimmee; son, Conrad C. Wright, Greentown; stepchildren, Dale (Marsha) Miller, Leesburg, Fla., Bryan (Kelly) Miller, St. Cloud, Fla., Linda (Dick) Tate, Spring City, Tenn.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert E. Hill, Kokomo, Charles (Shirley) Hill, Greentown; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Wright Jr.; a daughter, Kitty Kay in March of 1945; granddaughter, Caila Colleen Wright in October 1983; sisters, Clarabelle Mart, Converse, Betty Jo Off, Kokomo; brother, James Hill, Greentown; and sisters-in-law Anna Hill, Greentown, and June E. Hill, Kokomo.

Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown.
