M. Ann (Horn) Shaver, 76, Kokomo, died at 8:44 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. Born on Aug. 5, 1933, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Albert Correll and Norma Arlene Young. In 1999, while in Crawfordsville, she married James “Dog” Shaver.
She retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 15 years of service. Ann was a longtime member of the ABATE and BTW (Brothers of the Third Wheel). She enjoyed volunteering with the food bank at Grace Memorial Church.
Survivors are husband, James “Dog” Shaver; daughters, Patricia Arlene Homme, Pennsylvania, Rainy Dai Monahan and husband Michael, Logansport, Michelle Ann Riggle and husband Larry, Kokomo; and son, Robert Allen Horn. Ann helped raise stepsons James Horn Jr. and William Horn. She had 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a husband James Horn Sr., and brothers Robert Allen and Raymond Russell Hynes.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, with visitation from noon to time of service at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the family. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ellersmortuary.com.

David Gibson Beard, 64, Kokomo passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Samuel and Claudia (Walker) Gibson. He was one of three sons born to this union, including Samuel Jr. and Devere. After the death of their parents and grandparents, the boys were adopted by Earl Nathan and Gladie Lee Beard, Kokomo.

Mabel Berniece Shaw, 97, Greentown, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Century Villa Nursing Home, Greentown. Berniece was born in Cyclone on Nov. 1, 1914, to the late William and Margaret Benge. She married Alton Leroy Show on April 6, 1933, in Kokomo. Alton preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2003.
