Betty Jane McKay, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Northwoods Village.
Betty was born Aug. 10, 1925, to the late Morris McKay Sr. and Marie (Leslie) McKay. She was a member of First Church of God, loved her Sunday school class, The Fellowship Class, enjoyed being surrounded by family, especially during the Christmas season, and had a sense of humor that could brighten everyone’s day. She also loved playing bingo and was the number caller for bingo at the Civic Towers.
Survivors are a son, Chuck McCoskey and wife Becky; two daughters, Georgia Myers and Janie Trine; a sister Jenny Doolittle; a sister-in-law, Connie McKay; seven grandchildren, Linda Burress and husband Darrell, Melissa Rensberger and husband Doug, Amanda Huff and husband Kalow, Matthew McCoskey and wife Jennifer, Meghan McCoskey, Amy Trine and Josh Trine; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Burress, Kylie Rensberger, and Kelsie Avery; and one great-great-grandchild Kayleigh Wilhelm; also several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jackie, George McKay, and Morris McKay Jr.; five sisters, Mary Haskett, Helen Slusher, Deloris Chamberlain, Katherine Hedrick, and Barbara Dowden.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main St. Chapel, 725 S. Main St., with Pastor Jerry Ausbrook officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Main St. Chapel.
