Jerry Todd Pavey, 42, Kokomo, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 18, 1970, to George R. and Virginia “Ginny” (Featherstone) Pavey in Kokomo.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Kokomo, graduating in 1989 from Taylor High School. He was a member of the Naphtali Masonic Lodge F & AM 389, Murat Shrine Temple, Indianapolis, and Kokomo Shrine Club. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 873 and an accomplished electrician.
Jerry was an outdoors guy, enjoyed fishing, camping or just sitting around a bonfire. He was a terrific cook, both in the kitchen and outside grilling. He loved watching the deer come up close to the house to eat their corn on snowy days.
Jerry loved music, especially the blues. He was an avid pool player. He found his niche in snow skiing, becoming a fearless, natural and graceful skier. He loved dogs, and they loved him. He rode with the wind on his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Jerry had a big heart, an infectious laugh, was free with his hugs, and never went a day without saying ‘I love you’ to his parents, frequently telling them they were his very best friends.
He leaves behind his parents, George and Ginny Pavey; the love of his life and fiancee, Amber Welcher; his very special friend and cousin, Brian Pavey; his brother, Rex Edward (Susan) Pavey, Sharpsville; sisters, Karen Sue (fiance James Cogdill) Sandoe, Kokomo, Sharon Kay (Michael) Miller, Russiaville, and Jodi Lynn (David) Keene, Kokomo; nieces, Madilyn Rose and Allison Nichole Keene; and nephews, Matthew DeWayne (fiance Michelle Kirby and son Eric) Sandoe, Christopher Todd (special friend Kourtney Kohl) Pavey, Daniel Scott Pavey and Nathaniel David Keene.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Jeff Harlow and Mike Garro officiating. Burial will be in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery following the funeral. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour before the service, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Contributions may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society. Stout and Son Funeral Home have been entrusted with the funeral services.
