RUTH ANN FORD

Oct. 15, 1936 - Oct. 8, 2012

Ruth Ann Ford, 75, Kokomo, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at her residence. She was born Oct. 15, 1936, in Kokomo to the late Augustus N. and Esther L. (Heisel) Buckner.

After graduating from high school, she went on to get her CPS, Bachelor of Science, and a master’s in business degree. She retired from Chrysler in February 2001 after 46 years of service.

Ruth was a member of Morning Star Church. She was an active member of Laurette Gamma Alpha. Ruth was very active with the YMCA, where she served on the board of directors; she also was president of the board of directors for the Junior Achievement. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Gregory Fisher, Kokomo; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Wendy Ford, Houston, Texas; her dear companion of 30 years, Larry Newlin, Kokomo; 10 grandchildren and spouses, Brandon Fisher and wife Megan, Jacob Fisher, Bethany VanSickle and husband Brentt, Haley Ney and husband Jason, Adrienne Fisher, Moriah Fisher, Janae Fisher, William Ford, Alexandria Ford, and Phillip Colton Ford. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Jolene Fisher, Adele Fisher and Gideon Fisher; one brother, Albert Buckner, Gainesville, Fla.; and one sister, Becky Stemler, Vincennes.

She was preceded in death by a son, William G. Ford; grandchild, Colbin Fisher; brothers, Bob, Omar, Noel, Dick and William; and one sister, Lois.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with the Rev. Greg Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
