Burlington — Vernon L. Coleman, 78, Burlington, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. He was born in Logansport on Dec. 7, 1931, to Everett and Mary (Koiner) Coleman. On Aug. 13, 1994, he married Ruby (Dillon), and she survives.
He retired from Burns Security in Indianapolis. He served in the service during Korean War. He was a member of First Brethren Church in Burlington, and he liked antique cars.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Coleman, Burlington; two sons, Thomas (Tonyia) Hall Jr., Bringhurst, and Charlie (Tracy) Hall, Reynolds; one sister Darlene (Bill) Stroup, Monroe, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Courtney, Audrey and Austin Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Coleman.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at First Brethren Church, 205 W. Eighth St., Burlington, with Dr. Peter Roussakis officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church.
