— Barbara (Long) Doak, 63, Dawsonville, Ga., lost her brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at home with her family by her side as she passed.
Barbara was born and raised in Kokomo but later moved to Georgia to be close to her sons and their families.
She is survived by her sons, Michael and wife Melanie Doak, Dawsonville, Ga., Patrick and wife Jennifer Doak, Carlisle, Mass., and Adam and wife Mallorie Smith, Dahlonega, Ga.; her grandchildren, Jared, Abigail, Emilia and Haylee; her sister, Judith and husband Donald Mann, Constantine, Mich.; and brothers, George and Robert Long.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and June Long, and brother Richard.
Barbara’s short life was fulfilled and punctuated by her love for her children and grandchildren, and she will be truly missed by them and her friends.
A small memorial service was attended by close friends and family on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012.
