Roberta Joann Bagwell

Sept. 10, 1929 - Feb. 21, 2013

— Roberta Joann Bagwell, 83, Kokomo, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at St. Vincent Specialty Hospital. She was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Kokomo, to Robert and Iva L. (Wilson) Smallwood. On Nov. 6, 1949, she married Marvin Ray Bagwell, and he preceded her in death July 9, 1978.

She had worked at Kresge 5 & 10, Crescent Dairy and Roselyn Bakery. She attended First Baptist Church, and was a member of the Eagles. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Indiana University basketball and listening to country music.

Survivors include her children, Larry Bagwell, Linda Duncan and Sherill (David) Evans, all of Kokomo; grandchildren, Heather (Burt) Munsey, Heath (Kelly) Evans, Haley Evans, Hillary Evans, Chad Duncan, Jesse Duncan, Kevin (Libbi) Duncan, Robbey (Tammy) Bagwell, Serena (Anthony) Lees and Ryan Bagwell; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack (Margaret) Smallwood, Kokomo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Dale Allen; and five sisters, Betty Archer, Winiford Poynter, Anamay Crone, Eileen Tippet and Mary Smallwood.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
