Mary Kathryn Carver

Kokomo — Mary Kathryn Carver, 85, Tell City, formerly of Galveston, passed away at 11:51 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. She was born Dec. 30, 1926, in Walton, to the late Wayne C. and Mary Margaret (Wilson) Bechdol. On April 28, 1946, she married Harry J. Carver at First Baptist Church in Galveston. He preceded her in death.

She retired from Delco Electronics. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tell City, and the UAW Local 292 in Kokomo.

Survivors include sons, Raymond S. Carver and wife Barbara, Tell City, and Harry W. and wife Lina Carver, Kokomo; brothers, Richard Bechdol, South Dakota, and Jack Bechdol, New Mexico; and sister, Jean Hardy, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Paul T. “Opi” Bechdol and Samuel Bechdol.

Services will be noon Thursday at First Baptist Church, 207 S. Sycamore St., Galveston, with Rev. Lee Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday two hours prior to the service at the church.
