Marilyn Kintzele

April 19, 1948 - Oct. 25, 2012

Kokomo — Marilyn R. Kintzele, 64, Kokomo, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in her home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. CST Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 10th & Buffalo streets, Michigan City, with the Rev. Walter Rakoczy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. CST Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CST Friday at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City.

She was born April 19, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Albert W. and Corinne A. (Lubke) Kintzele.

Surviving are two brothers, Karl D. (Fran) Kintzele, Michigan City, and Philip L. Kintzele, Mount Pleasant, Mich. Numerous cousins also survive.

Ms. Kintzele was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Michigan City. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Kokomo, at the time of her death.  

She received a bachelor of science degree from Purdue University and master of business administration from Indiana University. She was a certified public accountant at Crowe, Chizek & Co. LLC, South Bend, from 1970 to 1974, and since 1977 was professor of accounting at Indiana University Kokomo. She was involved in many campus activities, including serving as chairwoman of the Academic Senate for several years. She also was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana Society of CPAs.
