Anne “Betty” (Strawbridge) Bromley 95, Kokomo, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at North Woods Village. She was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Kokomo to Daniel L. and Blanch (Thorne) Bock. Betty married Charles T. Strawbridge on Nov. 28, 1946. He passed away April 30, 1985. She married Lee Bromley May 26, 1990, and he passed away Feb. 13, 1994.
Betty was a 1935 Kokomo High School graduate, and a 1939 graduate of the University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree.
She was a past president of Tri Kappa. She worked for Neiman-Marcus as a buyer in Chicago, General Motors for 13 years, Chrysler for 15 years and was a Realtor broker for Edwards & Pencek Reality. Betty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Welcome Wagon. She was an avid bowler, tennis player, golfer, card shark, traveler and an avid Purdue fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Mike) Kordel, Kokomo; son, Larry (Elvie) Strawbridge, Indianapolis; stepson, Tom (Jean) Bromley; four grandchildren, Jason (Janice) Dyer, Jamie (finance Jason Bryant) Shepherd, Joey (Lyndsey) Dyer and Nicole Strawbridge; two stepgrandchildren, Chris Kordel and Karen Pritogel; four great-grandchildren, Jonathon Dyer, Justin Dyer, Donavan Shepherd and Haydon Shepherd; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Carrie Prifogle and Annie Prifogle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Blanch Bock; husbands, Charles Strawbridge and Lee Bromley; stepson, John Bromley; and brother, Daniel H. Bock.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. Russiaville, with Steve Bishop officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
