David S. Royer, 55, Kokomo, died at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at his home. He was born April 13, 1957, in Logansport. He was the foster son of Joseph W. and Germaine E. Tackett.
David attended Taylor High School, where he was a member of the varsity football team. He was a 1976 graduate of Kokomo High School. He had worked for an equipment rental company and worked in the construction business in Fort Myers, Fla.
David is survived by his foster parents; companion, Debra Reinsmith; foster brothers, Gregory Tackett and wife Jennifer, Paul Tackett and wife Lisa, James Tackett, Matthew Tackett and wife Annette; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alan Royer.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time on Thursday.
