Mary Lou Clover, 88, Kokomo, died at 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at her home. She was born May 27, 1922, in Tarentum, Pa., the daughter of John M. and Effie M. (Mahaffey) Robinson. On Sept. 24, 1947, at the Methodist Church in Tarentum, she married Dale C. Clover, and he survives.
She was a 1940 graduate of Tarentum High School. She was a dedicated housewife who, along with her husband, raised three daughters. Her memberships include the First Church of God, the Eastern Star Lodge, and in Pennsylvania, she had served her community as a Girl Scout leader, and a hospital volunteer. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, and spending time with a good book. Her grandchildren were the “icing on her cake.”
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Mary Lynn Piper and husband Lloyd, Kokomo, Connie Barch and husband Ernest Patrick, Brookville, Pa., and Nancy Salmon and husband John, Kokomo; seven grandchildren, Clark Piper and wife Amy, Jared Piper and wife Kim, Anna Barch and fiancé Todd Sproul, Alexa Ratcliff, Allan Barch, Joshua Salmon, and Mac Salmon; two great-grandchildren, Bennett and Molly Piper, and one great-grandchild due in April; one brother, Gerald Robinson and wife Bonnie, Tarentum, Pa., and a sister-in-law, Arlene Robinson, Trussville, Ala. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Robinson; and a great-grandson, Keaton Eric Piper.
Funeral services celebrating Mary Lou’s life are 3 p.m. Monday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Homes, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Jerry Ausbrook officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday. A private burial will take place at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
