Horace Eugene Shelton, 71, Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at his residence.
Horace Eugene Shelton was born on Feb. 12, 1942, in Birmingham, Ala., to the union of Precious Hill Duke Jr. and Jesse Lee Shelton. He married Irene (Ann) Shelton in 1963. He was employed as a computer engineer at Delco Electronics, retiring after 24 years of service in 1996. He was the founder and owner of Shelton Electronics, which is still in existence. His parents, wife, and one stepbrother preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela Shelton O’Banion (Dana), Chicago, and Yolanda Rachel Washington (Henry), Indianapolis; sons, Douglas Shelton and Derrick Shelton (Mona), both of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight stepbrothers; three stepsisters; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be held at noon Monday at Bluitt & Son Funeral Home. Pastor Ray S. Ware will be the officiant and eulogist. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Monday and from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
