Mary E. Daily

Mary Daily, 93, passed away at 10:58 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. She was born Dec. 6, 1919, the daughter of Bert and Mamie (Hudson) Ennis in Bennetts Switch. She married George E. Daily in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1988.

Mary attended Clay Township schools and worked at Delco Electronics for over 29 years as an inspector before retiring in 1981. She attended Peoria  Church, and enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and socializing. She was also fond of watching religious television programs, cooking and shopping.

She is survived by her sister, Florence Jones; children, Sondra (Richard) Summerton, Barbara Harmon and Larry (Jenny) Daily; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Daily; grandchildren, Frank Brown, Kimberly Veneziale, Brian Summerton, Mark Smith, Melody Williams, Kandy Lewis, Kelly Robson, Kristy Beam, Ryan Daily, Travis Daily, Mya Daily and Derrick Daily; 27 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and a niece who was also her caregiver, Judy Evans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Gary Daily; one great-grandchild; siblings, Chet Ennis, Gail Ennis, Joe Ennis, Glen Ennis, Wayne Ennis, Beulah Morris and Alice Jackson; and two infant siblings.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Mike Ennis officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Peoria Church.
