Jim Ploughe

Jim Ploughe, 71, Tipton, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 1, 2010, at his farm. He was born April 6, 1939, in Tipton, to Maurice V. and Velma V. (Findley) Ploughe. On Dec. 6, 1959, he married Judy Lindley, and she survives.

Jim was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Normanda Christian Church, Mid-America Threshing and Antique Show and had served in the National Guard. He enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled craftsman with his tools. Jim was a great husband, loving father, grandpa and uncle.

Survivors, besides his wife Judy, include two daughters, Jan Garrison and husband Tim, Tipton, and Jill Rushton and husband Joe, Sheridan; one brother, Terry Ploughe and wife Loretta, Tipton; two sisters, Janie Dellinger and husband Jerry, Michigan, and Donna Robinson and husband Terry, Tipton. Jim is also survived by six grandchildren, Tyler and Tiffany Garrison, Megan, Katie and Jessica Rushton and Alexis Plass.

His funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Brown and the Rev. Rex Dunning presiding. Burial will follow in Normanda Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
