Frances Wyatt

Frances Wyatt, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Nov. 10. She was born May 8, 1920, in Burlington, to Vern and Ova Ferguson.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1938. On June 1, 1941, she married Dallas Earl Wyatt, a native of Roanoke, Va. After living in various locations during World War II, she and Earl settled in Kokomo in 1946.

Frances was a member of the First Christian Church in Kokomo. She had also been a member of the “Huggin Club.” She enjoyed playing the piano and conversing with friends over a game of bridge.

Cherished for her compassionate nature, she was often a source of comfort for those seeking a kind and supportive listener. For her family and many friends, her home was always filled with warmth and companionship.

Frances is survived by a daughter, Susan Payne, Plano, Texas; a son, Donald Wyatt, Warwickshire, England; and two grandchildren, Madison Payne and Austen Payne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1987; one daughter, Linda Diane Wyatt in 1949; a granddaughter, Joanna Wyatt in 2004; and her sister and only sibling, Jean Dishon, in 2005.

The family wishes to thank Guardian Angel Hospice of Kokomo, and Debbie, Christina and Sherry of Senior Sitters.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Will Jewsbury officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
