June 2, 1932 - March 12, 2010

Delores Irene (Tucker) Thacker, 77, Kokomo, entered into Heaven in the loving arms of her heavenly Father, Friday, March 12, 2010, from St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by her family. She was born June 2, 1932, in Kokomo, to the late Albert and Ica (Graves) Tucker. On Sept. 2, 1986, in Clintwood, W.Va., she married Harold D. Thacker. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2007, in Kokomo.

Delores attended Forest High School. She had worked at the Elks Lodge for many years as a waitress, and then her and her husband owned and operated Ma & Pa General Store.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sandra Madden, Kokomo; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Richard and Pat Diles, Okeechobee, Fla.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Sandy and Roger Hill, Kokomo, Debbie Bratcher, Kokomo, and Darlene Wolf, Huntington; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Mary Katherine Tucker, Kokomo, Max and Jane Tucker, Peru, Herman and Kathy Tucker, Galveston, Ruble Tucker, Kokomo, Lonnie and Marylene Tucker, Kokomo, and Louie and Peggy Tucker, Crossville, Tenn.; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Richard Roundtree, Tallahassee, Fla., Wanda Lanham, Tennessee, Judy and Robert Bouse, Kokomo, Alberta Huffer, Kokomo, and Janet and John Trent, Frankfort.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and best friend; and four brothers, Earl, Earnest, Kenneth and Joe Tucker.

Funeral services for Delores will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastors Randy Blankenship and Chuck Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
