Jackie Lee Hight

Nov. 15, 1926 - Nov. 20, 2012

Jackie Lee Hight, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. Jackie was born Nov. 15, 1926, to the late Francis and Bertha May (Thurston) Hight in Kokomo. On Sept. 3, 1950, he married Beulah A. (Dillon) Hight, who survives.

After high school, Jackie proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. After returning home from the war, Jackie began his working career at Haynes International, where he worked for 36 years.

He enjoyed reading and collecting books, watching baseball, basketball and football, especially the Chicago Cubs, Indiana University, and the Indianapolis Colts. He was a member of Fairfield Christian Church, where he taught Sunday School. He also taught Bible study at Jefferson Manor. He attended Summit Theological Seminary in Peru.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Beulah; his six children, Jackie G. (Pam) Hight, Timothy P. Hight, Gary A. (Linda) Hight, Vickie L. (Bill) Cambell, Peggy L. (Dave) Mahoney and Jenny L. (Kevin) Stoner; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-

great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairfield Christian Church, 1476 E. 400 South, Oakford, with Lynn Coleman and Keith Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Army and the local VFW Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions in Jackie’s memory may be made to Summit Theological Seminary, 2766 W. Airport Road, Peru, IN 46970.
