William H. “Bill” Kromann, 91, late of Pompano Beach, Fla., and formally of New Castle and Kokomo, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2012, in his home, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Patchogue, N.Y.
Bill served in the Pacific during World War II. He went on to graduate in 1946 from the Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy and was honored in 1971 with the prestigious Outstanding Professional Achievement Award. Bill worked as plant manager for Chrysler in Kokomo and New Castle, eventually retiring as vice president of Chrysler Corp. in 1980.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; a brother, Herbert Kromann of Patchogue, N.Y.; and a sister, Ruth Spork of Sarasota, Fla.
He is survived by his son, William K. Kromann (Susan) of Indianapolis; grandson, Ryan (Kate) of St. Louis; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Marie, also of St. Louis.
Services will be private and arrangements have been entrusted to the Neptune Society. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful, loving care provided by Brightstar Health Care of Fort Lauderdale and the Broward County Hospice.
